Capital Improvements Committee -
According to county code, the costs that Hillsboro Properties
incurs every year in maintaining the Park is divided into
two categories. The first category is called "routine
maintenance". Any expenditures that fall within this
category must be absorbed by Hillsboro Properties themselves
and not passed on to the homeowners in the Park. The second
category is called "capital improvements". Any expenditures
that fall within this category can be recuperated by passing
through these costs to the homeowners in the Park. These expenses
are distributed evenly among the 147 homeowners and spread
out over a period of ten years. The additional monthly costs
to the homeowners is usually between 10 and 40 cents. Instead
of taking Hillsboro Properties to court at the end of every
year to challenge pass-through costs (ie: capital expenditures)
that we feel are actually "routine maintenance"
and therefore in violation of county code, it would be more
beneficial to our long-term goals as homeowners to have a
say in the beginning of the year as to what gets fixed, how
it is fixed, how much will it cost and who will perform the
work. Going to court to fight Hillsboro Properties every year
may save us 25 cents a month and give us the exhilarating
feeling of "beating the man" but it will come at
the expense of having any real influence in the decision-making
process over the yearly maintenance of the Park, as well as
creating an adversarial relationship with Hillsboro properties
that will be detrimental to negotiating a future deal to buy
the Park. If you have an understanding of drainage, street
repair, carpenty, plumbing, electricity or general contracting,
a pet peeve about something that is just not getting fixed
properly, or just want to get involved in a practical way
to improve the beauty and functionality of the Park (and perhaps
save us a few bucks in the process) please contact Clay Butler

Buy the Park Committee -
This committee will be responsible for researching information
on how to buy Alimur Park from Hillsboro Properties, deciding
which methods would be best to purchase the Park and then
executing a plan of action. The process of buying the Park
could take one to two years, but will surely be an educational
and empowering experience. If you're fascinated by the world
of high finance and real estate and are looking for a realistic
and concrete way to make an everlasting contribution to your
community, yourself, and future generations of potential homeowners,
please contact Clay Butler - Space #66, Phone: 477-9029, Email:
clay@claybutler.com
- president of the Alimur Park Homeowners Association.
Up the Amps Committee -
Alimur Park currently has a mix of 50 amp and 30 amp homes.
Those who are on the 30 amp rows are unable to upgrade their
older mobile homes to a newer manufactured home, as well as
install appliances such as washers and dryers. The Park is
maxed out on the power grid with our current wiring system
and upgrading the 30 amp homes would have to be done on a
Park widescale. This committee will research the costs of
upgrading the 30 amp homes to 50 amp or possibly upgrading
the entire Park to 100 amp. If you find electricity exciting
or enjoy a good mystery, please contact Clay Butler - Space
#66, Phone: 477-9029, Email: clay@claybutler.com
- president of the Alimur Park Homeowners Association.
Membership Committee -
To keep the Alimur Park Homeowners Association functioning
smoothly, we need to have an active membership base as well
as some sort of income to support the newsletter, the web
site, cookies and other future expenses. The membership committee
will be responsible for distributing flyers, creating a fund-raising
plan, recruitment of members and general word spreading. If
you have a knack for inspiring participation or raising money
please contact Clay Butler - Space #66, Phone: 477-9029, Email:
clay@claybutler.com
- president of the Alimur Park Homeowners Association.
